In the mid-80s, the founding shareholders of M&A believed Spain’s entry into the European Economic Community would force us to increase the size of our businesses and bring us closer to the entrepreneurial practices of more advanced countries, including the sale and purchase of companies. All of this led to the incorporation of M&A Mergers and Acquisitions in 1988, as a company entirely specialised in buying and selling businesses.

From its creation, the company was chaired by Carlos Güell de Sentmenat, until his death in December 2012. The current Managing Directors of the company are Jordi Alberich who was one of the founders and Ramón Palacín who joined the firm in 1991.
